Today halo 4's critically acclaimed first season of Spartan Ops comes to a fantastic finale. My suggestion is if you have not played it all yet, what are you waiting for? Its brilliant! If you don't want to see a planet crash into a sun then you have something wrong with you.

Halo 4 dlc and update schedule
Each episode promises "brand new stories, missions and locations", and each one introduces a new Specialisation. Forthcoming multiplayer playlists include Grifball, Team Doubles and most attractively of all, "Forge Test" - a special playlist for the very best Halo 4 Forge Mode maps to help "get them ready for matchmaking".
Looking further afield into February, "potential" new playlists include FFA and an updated Team Snipers, with a Halo 4 title update and the Halo 4 DLC pack Majestic (featuring three maps - two small, one medium) set to land at the end of the month. Expect to hear more about the latter two additions in the coming weeks.
Here's the schedule in full:
Week of 1/21
Spartan Ops Episode 6: Five new missions and an accompanying new CG cinematic.
"Forge Test" playlist (name not final): A rotational hopper featuring small Forge maps such as Relay. Help us test these maps by providing feedback and reporting bugs that will assist us in getting them ready for Matchmaking!
Specializations: Pioneer and Pathfinder Specializations unlocked for all players.
Week of 1/28
Spartan Ops Episode 7: Five new missions and an accompanying new CG cinematic.
Grifball playlist: A rotational hopper featuring everybody's favorite virtual sport. Catch the disease!
Specializations: Engineer and Stalker Specializations unlocked for all players.
Week of 02/04
Spartan Ops Episode 8: Five new missions and an accompanying new CG cinematic.
Team Doubles playlist: A rotational hopper for those of you that like action of the 2 vs 2 variety.
Specializations: Rogue and Tracker Specializations unlocked for all players.

Borderlands 2 Sir Hammerlock's hunt
Sir Hammerlock's hunt is the most recent DLC to be released for borderlands 2 the popular mash up of shooting, looting, role playing and bad jokes. Sir Hammerlock's hunt takes you to a new land called Aegrus with the sole purpose of killing some local wildlife in the loudest possible way. After messing about with the weird creatures that you will encounter and discovering that the hover boat can be quite a laugh you will fight some savages and uncover a plot to bring back Handsome Jack. Joy. So you run about, destroy some samples and dismember more annoying locals until you reach the big (small), strong (scrawny) bad guy. That said his secret weapon is an interesting boss fight. Unfortunately when actually going to fight the over all bad guy it is the most disappointing fight on borderlands, funny the first time. After this you can loot away and enjoy an encounter or two with the stalker raid boss. Return you hammerlock yada yadda yada kill some more innocent flying jellyfish things and you're done. Hammerlock's big game hunt is fun but it seems shorter than the other DLCs with only 3 chapters and lacks sufficient borderlands explosions and a truly humongous boss to fight at the end. It is still recommended just for the entertainment of talking to hammerlock, killing things and the general addition to the storyline. But the other DLCs are better.

Dragonborn DLC
Yesterday the Third expansion for skyrim was released called Dragonborn.
This DLC allows you to return to the land of Soultheim where you are tasked with defeating the original Dragoborn using a range of new shouts, amour weapons and spells hile also defeatong a whole new range of NPC'S from wolf riding goblins to wear bears.
As well as this you can venture the whole island if soultheim as well as a whole new deadric realm. You can also buy houses in two new cities.
The fimal big eddition is that you can ride dragons. This can only.be done after the main quest by using a new shout to control a dragon which you can then ride in thid person.
Overall the DLC look great and is said to be just as good as vanilla skyrim which explains why Dan cannot stop playing it.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist described as a 'kneejerk reaction'
![]() |
| Fans have focused too much on the 'pow!', Footman said. |
Early trailers have showed stealth hero Sam Fisher storming across a Middle Eastern desert in broad daylight, neck-stabbing crowds of armed bad guys in one fell swoop. It is a far cry from the series' dark and covert roots.
"Everyone can make kneejerk reactions to a vertical slice of the game that are really uninformed as to what the whole experience is like," Splinter Cell Blacklist director David Footman told Eurogamer. "We really have to be patient as we roll out each item about the game.
"The proof is always going to be in the pudding. Talk is talk, and it is just all talk right now. We really need to get a demo out there, for people to see how you can ghost levels, to see the gameplay. It seems to be an overreaction because people are just seeing the 'pow!', the explosiveness."
A considerable portion of the debate centred on a torture scene shown at E3, where players plunge a knife into a man's clavical, twisting the blade deeper in an attempt to exert information. Players are then told they can either spare or finish the man.
"What we showed at E3 was very explosive, very violent. That kind of stuff tends to get shown, but as we roll out different aspects of the game you'll see a lot more diversity and lot more of what hardcore fans are expecting to see.
"There are two distinct styles of gameplay - you can ghost a map, or you can go wild as well. There are some areas you'll have to play stealth, but there are areas where you'll find it hard if you don't use wide-open action."
Footman defended the use of such violent scenes, and explained that their inclusion was designed to reflect the real world.
"What people won't say, but what they'll dance around, is that is the price of freedom to protect Americans and their sedans and SUVs.
David Footman, Splinter Cell: Blacklist director
"If it makes you squeamish and uncomfortable, maybe that's the point. I always know when we're onto something that's really touchy and interesting when we get reactions like that. But the truth is it's really happening. That's the truth. We all know it's really happening all over the world. People are doing horrible things for - what, the right reasons?
"Where do you draw the line? What would you do to save your country when all it took was to torture someone using the wrong means? We feel it's an interesting dilemma for the player."
As for the game's focus on more action-orientated sequences, Footman explained that the change was part of the series' recent evolution from stealth, to stealth-action, and now to "stealth-action-adventure".
"[Previous Splinter Cell title] Conviction was a pretty big change for the brand, to stealth-action. [And] in terms of ensemble cast and everything else about our story, we're stealth-action-adventure now.
"We've gone from being a big game to a monster game. If you want to come out with a big Hollywood movie in the summer time, if you're not a big blockbuster - you're not going to get seen. It's very competitive now, it takes out the whole middle ground. You really need to know what space you're competing in. It's deep and it's broad.
"We definitely know our roots, being stealth, realism, having Sam Fisher at the core of it. But like every branded franchise, it is evolving."
I have pre-ordered Splinter Cell: Blacklist and will be receiving it on on it's release date in spring of 2013 along with the 'Upper Echelon' pre-order bonus, so you can look forward to a video on it around then.
